Adoption

The Adoption and Children Act (2002, amended in December 2010), indicates practitioners should hold the relevant qualification as an Approved Adoption Counsellor and have experience to work with adoptees when exploration of the adoption process is the focus. Since counselling comes under the umbrella of an adoption support agency, providing adoption support services, specialist practitioners must also be Ofsted or Adoption Support Agency registered and be subject to inspections at intervals. If you are adopted and would find it helpful, please arrange a complimentary Discovery Session with me to discuss your presenting issue and desired goals. Should I be unable to support in line with the requirements of the Act, I can signpost you to an agency or colleagues who can help.
